After his honorable discharge as a disabled veteran and return from active duty, Stevan started a construction company. Unfortunately economic conditions dictated the ultimate closure of that enterprise. As a prior business owner, Stevan understands the impact additional taxation and detrimental legislation has on business profitability. He is knowledgeable about the labor and regulatory compliance issues facing not only our business community but our farming and fishing industries as well. Due to his high level of entrepreneurial spirit, Stevan strongly believes that entrepreneurs are the cornerstone of our nation’s economy and financial wealth.
For the past 15 years, Stevan has worked in Corporate America and has witnessed the massive layoffs and fiscal instability affecting the financial foundation of this country. Through his current position, he has gained first-hand knowledge of the issues and challenges facing business, both large and small, in today’s economic crisis. Stevan shares concerns with many Oregonians over the high jobless rate in the state, the impending tax issues facing Oregonians and the runaway spending exhibited by Government both on the State and National levels. As a disabled veteran, Stevan understands the employment needs of veterans, both able bodied and disabled and their need to find and obtain viable employment. He is concerned for the continued stability of the families of Stevan is deeply concerned with the retention of parental rights and the importance of education.
